diy4x beadlocks. **mounted pics and poser flex** pg7

Looking good. I'm new to the weld on bead locks, but I guess in my head I was picturing the rings being welded 100%, then ground down.

Maybe that's the plan but just wondering Kurt recommends.

They are welded 100%, that was just the first set of welds I layed down.

So pretty fun story!

Got the wheels home, ground everything down smooth as butter, even rounded the lip out! Mounted two tires, rings, bolts nuts and washers. All effortless, took maybe... 30 minutes? :waytogo:

So im SUPER excited. cant wait to finish up!

So about 1130 i get to mounting the second two.
Could not get those stupif f-ing god**mn pieces of sh*t on the wheels for anything. i was cussing screaming kicking and finally went inside and had a cold one. this is about 12 now. Go back out and give them hell for another hour. no dice. i had 3 different crow bars on those suckers, two guys wrestling the tire, everything.

My buddy, the one who welded everything, grabs a F**king SCREWDRIVER. A foot long flat head. And prys the bead over the lip. :eek1:

Made me look like a complete asshat. So i got antsy and didnt center one of the wheels just right and now it gives me death wobble every time i come to a stop. :doah:

That and the larger offset combined probably.
But it looks SICK. I'll get pictures up in the morning. in 3 hours... when i wake up...

Looking forward to pics.

Seems like some sort of centering tabs welded to the inner ring would be helpful. Something for the tire to line up with instead of measuring and guessing.

Looks awesome. I wasn't sure about your design before, but now that its on the truck it looks great. Where'd you get that grill?

bead design is diffrent from tire model/brand to others. wont realy work.

Yeah you're right, Didn't think of that.

Good looking wheels man, I'm really wanting a set now. Did you guys balance them? Let us know how they feel at low pressure.

14 ounces of airsoft in each tire. I think some of the veggy lard I used to joint the tires got inside of them though. Making the bb's clump up for the first 200 yards or so every time I stop.

Do they balance out pretty good after that thinking about doing that cause I gotta replace my orings on my h1s.

They work flawless. Even with two of the tires not centered on the wheels perfectly it still runs smooth at 55-60. But even on the old wheels I had 8 ounces in each tire and it always ran smooth

That's looking good man! Nice rugged, tuff looking rig. Those doors with the red and white theme you got goin on look sick:waytogo:

Lookin' good Cherry! The feel a little wierd at first good an aired down. You'll love the traction though.

I got thembdown at 12 the other night but that's what usually go down to. What's the lowest I can take them? I was thinking about 8 but I have no idea.

And what's the easiest way to get them centered up? Just time and patience or is there a method to it?
