Would any of you fellas with DIY4X rock sliders be willing to take some pics of the brackets where they bolt on? Mine came in today, and look fantastic, except the brackets dont sit anywhere neat flat on the body supports they bolt to. I have about half the holes drilled but don't have them bolted on yet. Ran out of time, but I'd like to know how they fit on other's Blazers. I'm hoping they'll pull down flat without much trouble. Thanks in advance. I just got done with the 3/4 ton swap, 4.56 gears and Eaton E-lockers

Nice looking rig, and your gonna love those selectable lockers.

I have one of my sliders mocked up but not both, I can take a pic of the one if you want.

The one is close to being flush with the horizontal floorboard and the plates fit very well against the vertical side of the body mount gusset.

Mine had fit pretty well. I did have to set all bolts loose and then snug em all up. It has been years though.

If you wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate it. The backer plates will fit pretty flush, but the angle that the brackets are welded to the slider is what's keeping them from laying flat on the body gusset. The rear ones aren't bad, but the brackets toward the front of the truck aren't laying flat on the gusset at all.

@nvrenuf Thank you! Yours looks like it fits much better than mine. I'll finish drilling tomorrow and see if they'll pull up tight. I appreciate it!

Am I seeing this correctly? These things just bolt to the body alone, with no connection to the frame?

Interesting take...was just pondering how I want to do my sliders, and I was thinking about how to avoid body contact. Never occurred to me to just mount them to the body alone, lol.

These are pretty stout. I eventually ran my cage to them and separated them from the body.

In my case, I'm just looking for something to add in there for protection against the "oops! Didn't mean to do that!!" moments, lol. My K5 isn't a hard core off roader, and I have zero intentions or desires to make it one. I already have a built Samurai trailer queen for that, and my K5 is too clean to beat it up on the trails. But it does occasionally see dirt use, and I know it's only a matter of time before I misjudge a clearance somewhere...

These are perfect for that imo. And then when it does turn into a dedicated wheeler them you're still good.

It won't...this is the whole reason I own/built two trucks, lol. I can go balls out with the Samurai, and I couldn't care less if I rip half the tub off on a rock. On the flip side, if I want to go to the remote end of the lake for the weekend, it's a heck of a lot more enjoyable in larger truck with room for all the camping gear, coolers, etc that also doesn't need to be trailered out there, and I can daily it if need be. I learned long ago that dual purpose, being able to run the freeway AND hard core trails, rigs just don't work in my world. They end up being too much of a lousy compromise on both ends.

If I really feel the need for a full size crawler in the future, I'll buy another K5 or similar that's already been beat on, and go from there.
