I have the rock crawler 2.5 inch back spaced rims, I have heard alot of people say that the rims wont work because once the bead lock ring is welded on the tire must be installed from the other side of the rim, and the lip is too big

I have also heard it will work,

so my question is does the weld on bead locks, or any other for that matter have any issues with certain back spaced rims,

I went with these to minimise my grinding on the calipers,

any ideas?

I am pretty sure it is just harder to get the first bead on due to the drop well being the other way around. Isnt it true with shallow back spacing they essentially turn the rim around before they weld the center in? With enough lube and enough ass anything will fit:D .

Those are the wheels I'm looking at getting to use with the DIY beadlocks. I'd never heard of this problem. I know when I bought my boggers they were mounted on a pair of 15x10 steelies with weld on locks and they didn't exactly come off easy. But with a little muscle and a Samurai they popped off.

I think on the DIY4x the inner ring is welded inside the lip. So it doesnt make it any wider, its just inside the rims lip.

Yep. The inner ring is welded inside the outer lip. Got my beadlock rims sitting on the couch now.

some people say you can't use that backspace of wheel because it has a reversed drop center. i have the same set up, 2.5 backspaced wheel with diy beadlocks. and i havn't had any issues. yeah they were a little harder to put on but not that bad. i've heard the real problem is getting the tire off the wheel.
