how can i tell what it is under there? only saw one once. going to look in a few hours. thanks

Take a look at the tranny from the driver's side. There will be a big round electrical plug at the rear of the tranny and two sensors (one may be pluged) at the front and rear about half way up the case on the same side.

didnt get that far to tell you the truth. WHere he lives and where the truck is, damn long ride from NJ. so forget it thanks for the help

Some Did Not

I have looked for a 91 Sub 3/4 ton just for the trans. I have seen them with T-400's that I believe were factory. Was there a standard and HD version available (Semi-float vs Full float 14 bolt also)?

1991 Suburbans that came in 3/4 tons (2500) were either a GVWR of 7600lbs or 8600lbs. The bigger of the two had bigger brakes and I believe overload springs.

The 4 speed trans (4l80e) was an option with the 400 being standard equipment.

All came with the 14 bolt semi-floating rear axle.

All I can find listed any where is the 700r4, 4l60e and a 4l80e for '91. BUT my parents had '91 burb with a 3 speed auto. It was a lite 3/4ton with a GVRW of like 7600lbs or something.
