Do Cowl Hoods cool down our engine bay?

I have Edlebrock Pro-Flo also, it's the 2005 model w/hand held "brick" control module, duno what version that makes it? So I too can see air intake temp. Good tip on what to look at down the road when the swap has been done. :waytogo:
Thanks
Burt
Yeah you'll see some changes, i ended up going to a full on true cold air intake now my inlet air temp is never over 80 this time of year and during the summer it wouldn't get over 110 unless I sat a while but it'd drop fast once it got moving. I got some pics on my page

Nmxhustla

Just noticed you're right up the road from me.
New bern here

Ahh shit yeah im in jville here on lejeune. Nothing cool to do here with offroad rigs tho

Thank you for your service
Out in the western part of the state there are places, but yea, not near here.

Have you checked up near Elizabethtown? There's a 4x4 park there

Thanks man, and no I haven't been there i did go to Uwharrie or however its spelled and that was nice but just a little far. I'll have to check that spot out

Got two gages for Coolant temp 1 on the intake came with the pro flo, then the stock bbc one. Both stay petty damn close. Got a huge radiator so that's probably part of the problem.

I just see the two on the intake manifold in your build thread. Those will both read lower than a sensor on the head.

Usually up to 40 degrees cooler
Alright so I just bought a new coolant temp sensor and moved it to the actual block (old one wasn't big enough) and I gotta say when comparing it to the reading from the intake sensor its nearly the same mind you its not digital so its hard to say exactly judging by the guage but it can't be more than 10-15 degrees off.

So.... up to...meaning 5,10,15,20,25, 30,35 or 40 off..
Run thru the paces and compare at different rpms.

Yep, you have to run it around in different conditions. My head reading is always 210 (+/- 5 degrees) when properly warmed up however my intake manifold will fluctuate between 175 and 195.
