Do I get the standard AC orifice tube or the stupid expensive automatic one?

Truck is a '96 K2500 diesel that I picked up a month or so ago. Seller claimed the AC blew ice cold...it doesn't. I found it to be a bit low on freon, and took the cheapskate route out by just tossing another large can of freon into it until the gauge was in the green section. It started blowing cool, but definitely not cold. Compressor is also frequently cycling. Took a closer look, and found the dryer can to be wet around the switch area.

Ok...time to do this right. Planning on ordering a new receiver/dryer, o-ring/gasket kit, orifice tube, low pressure switch. But I see multiple options for the orifice tube - standard service, and automatic adjusting tube, one each for standard service under 105 degrees and heavy duty service about 105 degrees. Difference being the standard tubes are $1 on Rockauto, and the automatics are $25.

I live in Phoenix, where it's routinely gets above 105 in the summer. Is there any real benefit to these expensive auto adjusting tubes? I don't mind spending the money if there's a good reason, but not just for the old "you get what you pay for" BS, lol.

I tried it in my shortbed and didn’t notice any difference. I won’t waste my money again.
