Hey guys, I have a 87 blazer i am rebuilding. I need to order some tires so i was looking at 14/35/15 bias ply Groundhawgs. I have a 4" lift with no wheel spacers, and the truck is going to be my daily driver (not gonna kill her on the trails) will i have enough clearance without spacers or fender trimming?:dunno:

With the right backspacing, yes. But the 14 wide is a little wide for a street queen. And the groundhawgs dont have good road manners. And bias ply is going to flat spot and be a little squirly.

If you have a 4" lift you will hit the rear of the fender under articulation. Depending on your wheels you may hit the leaf springs.

You will need to trim the fender just a touch, and might need wheelspacers, it depends on what type of wheels ( backspacing) you have or are going to be putting them on

bias ply ground hawgs make for a crappy daily driver tire. Liveable but crappy

you'll kill her with those junk tires.. as mentioned 14" is too wide for a DD and groundhawgs are gonna make you hate life. as for clearance, how do you feel about trimming fenders? if i were you, i'd run some 33x12.50 BFG, general, procomp, or goodyear mud terrains

2 things go radial tires and ground hawgs are no longer made . so unless you find old stock your not going to get them. and if you do and still want them get 5 for a spare.

thats exactly why you just paid 25 bucks for 1 year membership to this site.

yaal come back now ya here

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Saved me from making a big mistake.

Just trying to help man, all of us have made mistakes on our rigs and if you ask we'll tell you what to/not to do to steer clear of making those same mistakes.

ground hawgs are junk they have been known to explode and do some amazing body work for ya lol the only reason I say this is because it has happened to me with some 15 35 15s I had on my blazer. So I stepped up to some 315 75 16 bf goodrich at's them damn tires lived through 4 trucks I had. Just my two cents.:thinking:

and even with the membership, I still seem to blow $$$ out my ass on "backtracking" with the project. :doah:

Braves: You can do a lot with all terrain tires offroad. Plus, they live longer and are quieter on the road. Just sayin :)

Thanks for the suggestions i will be sure to check them out it had 35 12.5 15 general grabbers on it before I tore it apart but I was hoping to get a more aggressive looking tire. I guess I should be smart about it though haha it'll save me a lot of money

Have you guys had any experience with the goodyear wrangler MT/R tires with kevlar? I've heard good things about them but I want to make sure they are nice before I buy them. Looking at 35/12.5/15

Its one of the tires I would put on my rig.

They sell a 42" sticky:saweet::saweet:

In all seriousness I know several guys with these and they work well

I plan on putting them on my Jimmy unless interco can get a bunch more sizes into production
