Do I have HEI?

I'm new, searched and can't find a way to figure it out, but here's what I have...

'84 K5 w/305, 4bbl rochester.

It looks like a HEI dizzy but I'm not 100% sure, please help!

should be. my 82 has hei. easy ways to tell are the coil in cap and hall effect sensor instead of breaker points. not the only differences, but really easy ones to see.

Yeah you should have HEI. It was on pretty much everything past a certain year in the 70's. The exact year has slipped my mind, but it was way before your truck was made.

It very well could be ESC HEI . If it is original . Do you have a weatherpack connector coming off the side ?

ya look for the 4 wire weather pack plug. if so less desirable style hei. it has a computer to control the advance portion of it somehow.
