Can I run 33's on my 79 with just a 2" body lift or do I need to go with more height??

I have a friend with a 2in body lift and he fits 33 with no problems. He could fit 35's if he cut out some of his rust and fenders.

I ran 33 x 12.5 R16.5 on chrome wagon wheels with no lift on the 80 K20. They would rub at the corner of the fenders if the body leaned or going over a bump. With 2" body lift you "should" be fine. Alot will depend on how sagged the springs are and what offset wheel you are going to use (the offset controls the outer "arc" of the tire while turning.

a stock k5 will run w/ 32" tires w/o problem. can stick the 33" on and have it rub just a little. so you will be fine with the 2" body lift.
