I'm working on a '90 model Blazer. I'll be using Holley's new Terminator EFI and installing Autometer gauges. So is there any reason i need to maintain the original computer? Does have any input with ABS?
Nope, you won't need it for anything. It only controls the engine and does not send any signals out anywhere except to the ALDL port and the check engine light.
The ABS on that truck is rear-wheel only, only in 2WD high, and is controlled by a separate computer up by the master cylinder/booster. Which you can unplug without ill effect.
That's the nice thing about older vehicles. These days with the CAN/BUS systems with interconnected modules, you can't hardly splice a wire without the computer(s) causing a stink about it, lol.
