well, in the rear, im installing my 14FF and i have new perches to be welded on, im just wondering if i need to rotate my pinion angle at all...right now i have 3in blocks, and im going to be adding a 4in shackle flip to that. shouldn't my pinion angle be good to go??? also, can i run with no shocks on until i can get the mounts welded up???? thanks guys!!!!!:D

well, i don't have a welder, nor do i know how to weld. my buddy welds at a shop though...therefor i was gonna take the axle previous to the swap and have him weld them on.

I would not weld until you are sure. I have redone mine once when I changed to a SYE and CV shaft and it is not the most fun thing to do. Cutting the welds off while the axle is under the truck is doable, but lots of work.

I would also look into getting an anti wrap bar of some sort. I would get rid of the blocks if possible.

I would wait to weld the perches until you know where they need to bo. Yes the pinion angle will need to be changed and also the 4" shackle flip is going to move the axle 1.5" forward of where it currently is. At least that's how much my axle moved forward with my ORD flip. I would also consider using the stock length shackle and then use a zero rate for that extra little lift and that will allow you to move the axle back to it's original location at the same time.

Don't forget when you lift it if you have a slipyoke 208 the rear driveshaft might be a little short. When I did mine it pulled the slipyoke out a little over an inch and that gave me a leak at the seal there.

awesome...yeah, i do have a slip yoke 208. i geuss i will bolt the axle up where i need it to be and get somebody who does mobile welding to come over and weld in the perches. owell, yeah..as far as the Dshaft, i am going to have it lengthened if need be. that's no big deal really.
