I think the thornbirds are one of the best looking tires but I've heard they suck in the mud. Anybody had any experiences with them?

They don't suck in the mud, they suck in EVERYTHING!

They were the ultimate street poser tire until the STS came out. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I'll tell you I went riding with my friend in his 2001 tacoma this weekend. He has a TRD locker and 33" MTR's. I very very dissapointed with the MTR's. He couldn't make it up anything.

If your friend can't get up anything in a tacoma with MTR 33's and a locker I suspect that there might be an issue with the operator of the vehicle. Tacoma's are pretty good and with a locker and 33's it should go all over the place. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Dirty birds suck period. They don't clean out very well in the mud and are just to smooth and not open enough to be worth anything. They do look cool though, which is the only reason Interco still makes them. There is a reason why there hasn't been a new size of birds introduced in the last few years...they don't sell enough because very few like those POS's. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Yea but STS's have a use to them... sand sled pulls and street driving /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Are they decent for pulling? Still they are friggin' ugly. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like them, the work better than Boggers in the mud /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Get a set of 31's and you'll go anywhere! /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

if by 'thornbirds' you mean 'stuckturds', 'suckbirds', 'stuckbirds', or 'thornturds', yes, they suck.

you forgot shi*birds

They suck hard. I ran 2 sets...one used and one new. they were 31x12.50 on 15x 8.5 wheels. They looked kick ass, but sucked off road and sucked even worse on road. They rode almost as rough as my 44s. Now I'm running 325/60 BFG ATs, MUCH MO BETTA.

they make a damn good tire swing or flower planter /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Is the pope catholic? Does a hobby horse have a hickory d!ck? Does a wild bear sh!t in the woods?

I had a buddy who put a set of 35"s on his F250 and hated them from day one. They flat spotted, rode like wagon wheels, and sucked off road.
