i have an '89 k5 with a 350 tbi engine and everywhere that i look for performace mods, they always have throttle body spacers. the companys always say that they increase the fuel economy (that would be good), increase horsepower, and i think some say that they increase throttle response. is all that true? and if it is, does it make a big enough difference to spend $65 on one?

highly unlikely that increasing the plenum vulome by adding a 1/2" spacer will net you any gains
gimic

I had one on my 87 Burb, it helped a little with the throttle response, but used more fuel and really didn't seem to make any more power.

I yanked it cause even with all the spacers it messes up the geometry for the TV cable on the tranny and I couldn't get my truck to shift right (neither could the tranny shop)

Anyway with it removed I haven't noticed much difference again.
I'd say save your money for something like a better set of headers or something else that hase real power gains.

i heard you will gain more from an injector spacer then you will from a trottle body spacer. I got both in a kit off ebay so I'm using them both but I also have a cam and headers on it. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
it's a 305 so any little bit will help,LMAO
