I do keep tabs on all money spent, starting from when I bought my K5. And I know for a fact, without adding it all up, that I've spent thousands and I'm going to spend thousands more. It doesn't bother me one bit. I enjoy building it and making changes along the way. If I was on a tighter budget, I'm sure I wouldn't have spent as much. But I have been fortunate enough to have a job that has lots of overtime and that is a big help in what I can spend and how fast I can spend it.

The only downside, which it really isn't, is that Kim gets what she wants. She never complains about me building this K5, I score some huge Brownie Points and have fun building my rig. WIN WIN
