Do you guys carry your driveshafts and axles with you?

It sounds like your trailering out to Moab, if so don't worry about a driveshaft. If your driving from Cali, get a rear shaft for a spare, one that can push you down the Hwy. at whatever speed you want to drive back to Cali at.

With your drive train I would carry ujoints and straps, a few Qts of each oil in the truck and electrical supplies. Then maybe a few misc. odd ball parts like locking hubs, maybe a stub shaft, a belt, some misc. plumbing lines and hoses.

Too many times we get wrapped up trying to make a field repair perfect and permanent. Think of a field repair as something that gets you to pavement/trailer. There are may ways to make just about anything work when you put your mind to it.

Have the big stuff at camp or on the trailer and lighten the load on the vehicle.

Well said!!!

Or you can be like the Canadian and carry your entire shop of tools and enough parts to build a functional second vehicle in the back.

Yeah, Penny squats!

Yeah, was just thinking about ring and pinion sets. I'm super easy with the throttle but I know sh** happens. I'll just hope my cheap set keeps doin the job.

Of course, all this thinking and preparing just means something..... never mind :D

My r&p damage was with a 12 bolt and letting the truck hop too much.

I carry it all. What's an extra 100 lbs on a 5000 Lb Blazer, 2%, phhht. It's worth it to me to be able to keep on wheelin, and or lend a spare when needed.
