will look gay if I prime and paint some brackets and radiator supports and misc brackets in glossy black on my 62 cadi-everything has surface rust on it- i started w/ the power steering and air tank-and last night i did the whole
radiator and core support area and i think it might be too much black-what do ya'll think????

thanks

It was probably black from the factory. No reason it wouldn't look just fine.

my bud said flat black, but i thought glossy would look better-i will pick up a can and check it out-that would be a lot of wire wheelin and sanding to get all the glossy black off

I perfer semi gloss. the look of gloss black on stuff just looks like you gave it the car lot special..

You may be able to paint over the gloss with the flat. Gloss black seems to show any imperfection under it and is a lot harder to keep clean.

Here is a pic of my frame and springs on my '96 K1500. I painted the entire frame, suspension, lift, and axle with flat. The only prep work was hose it off with a pressure washer. Then I painted it with red primer and covered that with the flat black. It made everything look new again.
