1/2 ton status
Figured this would be the best place to post. 75 3/4 ton 4x4 frame and supposedly 4" lift. Guy says frame is straight and crack free, never been twisted and such. For a while, ive been either wanting a 4x4 longbed or covert my truck (77 2wd, my first truck) into a 4x4. It has no axles, no transfercase, no driveshafts, no trans, was orignaly a th350 203 i believe. He wants 350 for everything. In my opinion i think thats a ltitle high, and the 4" lift doesnt really appeal to me, not quite big enough, but then again being a 3/4 ton 4x4, they sat pretty high to begin with (the 76 3/4 4x4 my dad has down on the farm sits just about perfect for stock@300k miles).
Pros: supposibly good, striaght frame, 73-80 so it will bolt right into my truck, and a 4" lift
Cons: No tranny, transfer case, driveshaft or axles. No center hump either (i would have to modify my 2wd floor since mines a th350 right now)
Whats your guys opinion? I was thinking it would be work 100 or so, 200 max, a plus would be if its a leaf style suspension, rather than blocks. Then again, the shackle flip gives you a 4" lift, and what i planned to do if i wanted it higher. And being a 3/4, i dobut the leafs are usable on my k5 (i wanted a 6 or 8 inch on there anyway).
Heck, i let a 73 3/4 ton th400/np203 i beleive go for 800 dollars, saw it on craigslsit, had the money ready, had something come up never went and looked at it, guy sold it, and i regret not picking it up. I just think 350 for just a frame and a leafs is a ltitle high.
