Dodge 4500 to Gm 4500

I searched around and think I found the answer, but will the cast iron Dodge 4wd taihousing off a 4500 work on a GM 4wd 4500? I'm thinking of converting the 2wd I have to 4wd, and want the iron version of the aluminum so I can run a doubler and not have to worry bout breaking the aluminum one...
