I'm getting ready to do the 52" swap on my truck. I've seen a couple builds where people said they used 52" springs off a Dodge? Does anyone know of any advantages of using the Dodge springs? If so what Dodges are they off of?

I bought a set of dodge 52's off of a member here just for the fact of the offset center pin, going to replace my chevy 52's with them.

Anybody run s10 54" springs up front? Looks like they could be a good option considering the short side is 26" just like the chevy 52" & 56" springs. Might work good for 1 ton trucks where the 56" springs hit the frame and don't want to move the shackle for 52"s. Probably best to get the 4+1 pack.

I've been contemplating this instead of the 56" I have now,
I have moved the front hangar forwards, but my shackles are a little too long for my liking,
and I don't like the increased pinion angle at full droop...

So I'm also interrested in hearing from someone who has tried them :ears:

Well I'm probably going to check them out, provided I can find a set of the heavier springs in the junkyard. Sorry about the threadjack

Btw when it says 4/1 leafs, does it mean 4 regular leafs (including the main leaf) plus 1 overload?

The S10 rear springs are way to soft for a fullsize. Most guys use 2 rear packs in when they do they do a SFA on the S10s. I used the dodge 52's in my s10 to help push the axle forward.

If ya find a set of the 5 leaf(4+overload) s10 springs from a old body s10, they are the same load cap as the 54's from a 95-00 tahoe.

Picked up a S10 3+1 pack that I'm gonna try out, if it turns out too soft I'm only out $50. But I think it will be ok since I'm currently running a 3 leaf 52" pack and according to that chart the S10 leaves are 1350 and the 52s are 1290.

edit: turns out my 52" pack is a 4 leaf, woops...might get an add-a-leaf or cannibalize another pack:dunno:
