Got a line on a free D44, but it's Dodge ... don't care about the wrong-side-drop, as it's got the flat tops I'd want for crossover.

However, without me driving out to look at it, will those knuckles be useful for me, or are they different?

If that is a full time axle, run, don't walk away from it... unitbearings.....

Uhm...

It depends.

I've been junkyarding a lot lately as the crusher has come and is starting to eat the goodies.

There are some Dodge D44s out there that have flat top knuckles that look just like Chevy. Probably 3-4 different style Dodge axles and only a couple I think will work. They have a little bit different caliper design but the spindle pattern looks the same and there is a lot of meat in the area to be machined.
