I need some parts for my Dana 60 under my 1982 K30. I found a dually Dana 61 from a Cummins for $300. It had external lockouts, and they are gone. The hubs won't work for me, but the spindles should, right? How about the outers? Are they the same between internal and external?

Let me know, thanks.

The guy just sent me a picture, he didn't know what he was talking about, it has internal hubs.

only real difference is in the punkin for gearing .

and if I recall the inner short side shaft is tiny bit shorter.

dodge used 1/2" studs and gm 9/16" for lug nuts.

dodge used little thinner rotor also if I recall.

dodge knuckles get the tie rod up close to 2" higher over gm .

dodge stock push/pull steering arm retapered to top mount is cheep lift correction arm for steering.

Yeah I was on my cell phone, and not paying attention to what I was writing. I meant can I use my GM rotors in place of the Dodge rotors. I am sure I would have to drill out the hubs for the bigger lug studs, but I would want to do that anyway.

Are the caliper mounting brackets the same?

Don't take this as a definite no, but.......the first D60 I bought for my K5 turned out to have been a DRW GM that someone had converted to SRW using a set of Dodge external hub's and dodge rotors but had apparently drilled to use the larger GM studs. When rebuilding it I had bought new calipers, rotors pads etc, I can only assume there is a difference in the hub flange thickness as the thicker GM rotors would not work, I remember the old rotors looking thin but not beat up and apparently they weren't really that worn, just the thinner dodge ones.
The spindles, caliper brackets, wheel bearings, king pins etc were all the same as I ended up putting the external hubs on another 60 I acquired and kept the GM ends for mine and sold the other axle.

Again just my experience with someone else's SRW conversion, so don't take it as gospel :waytogo:

Iirc, once the Dodge axles changed to internal style hubs ('89?) they were using the same hub and rotor assemblies as the GM, even the 9/16" studs. External was a different ball game.

Nope, we put a 93 Dodge 60 in my brothers Wagoneer and it has the smaller studs and thinner rotors with internal hubs.
