Do they only come V6? or are there v8's too? I dont know anything about them. So are they good if you get a 2500, do the hold up well to abuse and what is the life expectency of a a cummins, i have heard that they last forever? Let me know guys thanks

Dodge Cummins = inline 6cyl only (5.9 up to mid '07 or 6.7 '07 on)

Life expectancy? If taken care of, much longer than the truck itself. Literally hundreds of thousands...

We'll forgive you TC, Cummins came in only I-6 configurations, both F*rd and GM went the V8 route.

I6 for the Dodges.
Pre98.5 probably easier for a conversion due to the electronic injection pump after 98.5
Much longer life than the trucks they are bolted into....

in my experience the pre 98.5 (12v) got a little better mileage than the 98.5 and newer (24v). tons of torque, easy to get 300,000+miles out of them. just watch out for the autos i believe pre 2004, in most cases those are only good for 85,000-100,000 miles.

im actually looking into doing a 4BT cummins in a blazer.

inline 6cyl is a 6BT, 4BT is an inline 4cyl

A V8 Cummins would be cool
