I know this is treason, but I was sitting fantazing that I had the $$ for one of these trucks. So I ask you, "Experts, and laymen (like me) if you could which truck would you buy?

Power Wagon period. You will break more crap going balls out and jumping it then crawling and using it like a regular truck. The power wagon did awesome in Moab when Petersens 4 wheel and offroad did the writeup on it a few years back. It will crawl well. I want one BAD, just with a Cummings, if they ever put one in it.

The best reason so far that I've found from interviews as to why they won't make a cummins power wagon

1. The integral wich will not fit with the large intercooler needed on the diesel
2. The elec locker in front axle on PW can't keep up with the torque out of the cummins.

I've seen a few builds where someone made their own diesel PW an it was glorious. Actually one guy bought a new diesel and a new PW. Swapped in the
Cummins. Put the gasser in the donor truck then sold the donor truck off lol.

WOW, thats way to much workfor me. put a winch and some lockers in a cummins truck and call it good.

It's Cummins, it's spelled out on the side of basically every truck that has one :deal:

As for the trucks, both expensive and nice but would you really want to wheel them? Potentially mess up a new $45K truck? You get a new truck that is more capable with a warranty (that won't cover abuse) but that is a lot of extra money IMO.

I'd have to go with Power Wagon, 'cause the kind of wheelin we have around here doesn't involve high speed and jumps. Both are sweet trucks though!

Ideally though, I would have to agree with the build one's own with a Cummins truck as the basis. ARB lockers f/r, Dynatrac no-spin kit, a 3-4" lift (I forget the name of the company but there is a company that makes a SICK setup for them, K.O.R.E. maybe?), 37's or so, and some kind of a beefy front winch bumper. :pimp:

Raptor, but with the 6.2. I can crawl plenty with something else, we have tons of desert roads out here plenty of space to play, plus I think it would be fun to take to the dunes.

Only thing I would be getting from Dodge would have that big C on the side of it

kore has kinda gone the way side lately. they were one of the first setups but seem to be droppy out of favor.

carli and thuren both have really trick setups. thuren is more of a build to suit/custom where carli makes more "kits" all tailored to the cummins dodge. guy i kno has a mega cab that he jumps. went from a pro comp 4", to a basic carli, to a race carli, now hes going full custom baja suspension.

THANKS for clearing that up Chris, it bugs you too huh?:waytogo:

And as far as messing up a new truck....to see how its done look no further than Shawn's 06:haha:

And I'll take my old Chevy Iron...at least I can still work on that.

Seems sorta like an unfair question to me, but i'll play along.

The powerwagon is built to be a capable off roader, but it is still at 3/4 ton truck. Also, its an SFA truck. This will lend itself well to towing, mild off-road, mild rock crawling, etc.

The Raptor is based on a 1/2 ton, IFS truck. It isn't really designed to crawl, its designed to blast down dirt roads at 80+ mph and to play in the sand. Always looked to me to be more setup for desert racing style off-roading.

Personally, i'd love a powerwagon, but have a hard time buying a 3/4 ton dodge with a gas motor. But thats not to say i wouldnt' enjoy a weekend in a Raptor with the pedal to the floor......Every writeup on that thing i've read says the review people are blown away by the suspension performance for a "factory" truck.

Trucks

Okay forgive me (novice warning) Whats the big deal about a Cummins? I own a old diesel sub once for like 10 minutes. Please enlighten me!

If I were buying a heavy duty truck I would at least buy one that has a diesel so its useful

Raptor for me

A kid I know got a Raptor, I have yet to ride in it though
