A little background, my truck is a 85 m1008 with 90,000miles or so. I have an electric fuel pump (year old), new injectors/glow plugs (5,000 miles), great batteries/fuel lines and a GM-8 turbo. Truck has run great up until recently, its harder to start and I can hear a loud clicking noise while starting it. I dont think its my starter, sounds like its coming from, the motor. Is this something the IP does when its about to go out? Im like 80% sure my truck isnt running as well as it was, but it could just be in my head. It does smokes a little when I start it cold.

Maybe the glow plug solenoid/timer? Hard cold starting , smoke when cold can be a glow plug issue
