Does a military blazer come with D60 & 14BFF?

From what I gather, military Blazers got 10 bolts. None made it through with 8 lug axles.

This is the one in perticular >

Seems like a pretty good deal to me if it does.

Short answer: Nope, they don't.

Long answer: The M1009 CUCV (Blazer) is 6-lug, so 10-bolts with 3.08:1 gears and a Gov-loc in back. 6.2 diesel, TH400, NP208.

The pickup CUCV's (M1008, 1028, 1010, etc) are 8-lug, so D60 front and usually a 14BFF in back with a Detroit. (Some fronts have an Auburn or something, and some rears are dually, so D70.) 4.56:1 gears, 6.2 diesel, TH400, and usually NP208 (trucks specced with PTO have the NP205.)

The CUCV's have the same power train/axles as were available in their civvy equivalents, i.e. the Blazers are half-ton and the pickups 1-ton. (With the exception of the TH400 which did not otherwise come in a half ton.) They prolly have the heaviest GVW spring setup that GM offered at the time, so the military calls them "3/4 ton" and the pickups "5/4 ton", but that's unrelated to the civvy ratings in any event.

Thanks for the quick response guys! Kinda what I was thinking. To bad I have to pay a chit ton of taxes this year or I would have a new cruizer!

Funny you should mention taxes....I'm doing my federal return online right now. On paper it looks like I'm getting over $1800. State is giving me close to $2400.

Just so you know, they aren't GIVING you anything. That's YOUR money you have kindly loaned the government, at zero percent interest, which they have invested and made interest on over the last year ... and they return to you. :deal:

I tweak my deductions so that I pay just about what I will actually owe, come the end of the year... this way *I* can make the interest on my money over the years. Some years we owe the feds a coupla hundred bucks and we get that much back from the state, or vice versa... but we right about break even.

As long as I get it back...I don't really care. I say giving because I'm actually getting something back, as oppsed to paying.

That was his point, you are paying. In fact you are over paying.

Yep, would you willingly lend thousands of dollars to anyone else for a year...with no payments and 0% interest? Then be happy to finally get it back?

DaMN I am downright excited about filing this year. For 1#, I just got married in August so I get a nice check cut on top of the usual refund of my taxes since I am a fulltime student, work two jobs and am still well below the poverty level. 2# Since I am filing for the new tax season, this means I will qualify for loads of grant money otherwise not available to me for school and living expenses while I finish school and work on grad school.

Plus all these freaking rebate checks I keep hearing about.

On one hand, I have not or will not ask anybody for money, and usually frown upon handouts no matter the source. I am also losing alot of trust in my government the past few years.

On the other hand, maybe this is just the interest they have been making on my money in the first place, and on top of that, I kinda want to use the "Obama" check to pick up an AR17 and S/W .40.:D:D....decisions decisions.

What do you guys think about all the new rebates and Obama checks that are supposedly coming?

I think by the time they get done dropping the limit on income I'm not going to get one.

Wait, what was this thread about again?

Well ever since I've had a job that the government knew about...I've always had the taxes taken out. So it's not like I was exactly missing the money. I got along without it just fine.

What I've found out so far is, if you got a stimulis check...then you don't qualify for the rebate. I usually don't like handouts (wellfare, SSI for people who don't need it, etc), but I could use some new Boggers.

is there anything special about the 10-bolts they had? are they the same as the ones which came in the other k5's? or have special customizations??

thanks
