well, i am in need of a new cab, but i am trying to patch this up so i can atleast drive it a little bit if needed. i didnt' want to buy a cab, but with the PO's fiberglass repairs and all the firewall issues, i think i will have to. i drove it a little today, but where the gas pedal mounts to the firewall, it twists everytime i hit the gas. not to mention, it gets hot as all get out in the cab with the holes. any opinions on what to do here???

thanks in advance guys!!!!!

I think you can get firewall replacements for older trucks, but in your case you're probably either looking at a new cab or some extensive patching and welding.

I got my plow truck with a better firewall I am scrapping out . :eek1:

she is GONE ! ! !

time for a cab and be done with it correctly .

holy crap that's bad...and being a pick-up I'd say a cab replacement is a no brainer. Did the PO wash it with salt water once a week? :eek1:

Wow and I thought the firewall on my old cab was bad but you've got some serious problems. They don't make replacement firewalls for our trucks and that is basically the entire thing, I wouldn't even attempt to save this cab, do a swap.

I have started to notice our trucks are to the age point of the factory seam sealer up in the wiper cowl area is dryed out / shrunk / coming out . this combined with years of dirt / leaves / junk is holding water up in the area and rusting the firewalls out .

but this one posted has got to be the worst I have ever seen even vehicles 2x its age tend to have better .
