Helicoil or similar repair kit for a M16x2.0 bolt?
This is the bolt size of the strut brace for a 208/241. The big bolts.
My aluminum is stripped out and Im looking to repair it beforeI do a lot of wheeling. I decided to check McMaster-Carr, and I was a little suprised.
The insert is a reasonable ~$3 (part # 91732A673, 16mm depth)
The tap for the insert is $92
The instalation tool is $99
That is a bunch of money for a tool I will probably only use once. Does anyone have a tap (for the insert) that I can borrow?
On a side note, I do have a M16x2.0 tap. Is there something I can use that will hold up well, rather than using an insert?
