Does anyone have a 29 plus Cobra????

A guy at work gave me a cobra 29 plus that he had he said he just had it sitting around and didnt use anymore, would like to know alittle about it.
it has a 3 wire plug on the back it says channel saver and main power, I know black is ground and red is power but the other wire is orange does it go to a constant power source. Is this a decent cb it was manufactured in 86 acording to the data plata on it. Have looked online but cant find any info on it. thanks.

Yes!! My GF was given a 29 plus by a friens. I couldn't find much info on the net either. I hooked it up, no worky. So, that was the end of that. But, yes, I have HEARD of a 29 plus.

Cobra 29s are pretty good basic radios. I've got one, and I like it. Does everything I need it to do, and nothing I don't. If it's free, snatch it up, they're pretty expensive buggers.

I repaired one two weeks ago. The other wire is hooked to a constant +12Vdc supply. It stores the current channel so that it remains on that channel when you turn the switched supply voltage off.

After I repaired it, and tested it I found the audio quality to be so-so.
