i dont know if it matters to you or not, but there are several much simpler choices then a duramax for the conversion. the gm 6.2 and 6.5 are nearly bolt in swaps and a cummins is fairly simple also. Lots of electronics involved with the duramax.
Not an 04-05 but.Posted today on local CL.

i don't know much about the 6.2 and 6.5, i don't want to get involved with any dodge parts(kinda bias) but i am definitely ready for the electronics in the duramax

Or maybe they're not lost they just realize there are WAY better options. From the sound of the OP it sounds like he might be in over his head. For someone dropping in a duramax I think finding the duramax would be the easiest step.

Exactly! Once i learned of the trouble vs. gain compared to other options, it quickly became no longer an option!

Well then in that case, Keep us up to date on your progress! Also, There was an episode of Stacy David's Gearz that had some info on a duramax swap harness. So check that out.

ok i've decided to go with an 01-04 dmax because they are more common and thus cheaper
