Hey all, does anyone know where I can get my hands on a Warn "classic" winch mount front bumper to fit a 1978 Chevy Suburban? I do not mind if it is used or new...used would be better (cheaper???) and I can make a mounting kit for it if I need to...all I need is the bumper really. Thanks guys! :D :D :D

Local classifieds, dandy dime, thrifty nickel, quick quarter what ever they call it in your home town. Newspaper and do a ebay motors search within 200 miles of your area code.:D

watch out though, those warn bumpers are very cheap...

construction.

I had one on a 78 Cherokee... not very heavy duty.... thin sheetmetal and kind of wimpy mounts. A chick in a new Kia cut in front of me and caught the edge of it, pulled the whole driver's side forward and tore the support mounts out of the metal... I kicked it back to shape with my foot pretty easily.

but it did look good and the winch mount part of it is sturdy enough. The rest of it has zero structural value.

Yep, the ones for a GM truck will WASTE a fender if you bump it against something. The center section is quite strong, but the outer sections twist and bend easily. Bump a rock too hard and the end will twist right up the fender and mangle it. :(

I have one on mine. I will be pulling it off when I build my tube bumpers. I modified mine a little to make it stronger and raise it up.
