My rear end is too high and the springs are kind of stiff. And to top it off my shackle angle is bad. I think they aren't wornout enough so I was thinking about taking the over load and 1 leaf out. That would only leave 2 leafs. I don't need to carry any cargo either.

I was hoping it would also cut down on the frame flex

I guess I could always try and if it doesn't work just put them back in.

To alleviate the shackle angle I would move the rear hangers forward and longer shackle. I wouldn't go down to a two leaf rear pack personally. I think its just asking to break a main leaf. Either remove the 3rd leaf in the pack or the overload, not both.

What typa and size springs are you running in the rear right now?

Stock half ton springs out of a half ton 2wd

I just don't feel like moving the hanger right now.

I wonder If I could use some 56's. I have a pair of those.

It maybe worth throwing a 56" up there next to your current setup and getting an idea of what that would do to your shackle angle. Also you can try a mix and match spring pack....Your current main leaf with other leaves out of extra packs laying around to tune your rear ride height and flex.

How about fixing the frame?

either move the hangers

or put on the 56's and a longer shackle.

I think the problem was the body mounts were loose.

They will not survive. I went trough 2 sets of 56" springs with 2 leave taken out. I think they still had about 5-6 leaves. Had the worst axle wrap and bent the sh!t out of the springs. I now run a full set of 56 springs in the rear with no problem.

Bad idea to remove main leaves unless you're running 3/4 or 1 ton packs. 2 leaves will probably bend like crazy

last time out I was only running three leaves out of an 8" lift pring. bent the carp out of them. they were fine all day until I was really getting on it at the end of the day.

it flexed great all day, then this. watch the back axle hop up and down.:eek1:

I will never do anything like that down here. My wheeling consists of driving through mud and over dirt hills :haha:

I could put track bars on. But If I'm going through the effot I miles well do a 4-link and coil springs. I always get myself into huge projects :doah:
