Hey gang! Glad to finally be a member. Picked up my k5 about 2 weeks ago. I've had some headaches with it so far. Had to put in a fuel filter and pump to get it home, have put on two power steering pumps with no luck on the noise, *See other post* and went to put it in 4 wheel drive to play in some snow and the front driveshaft fell out. I tied it up and took it to a friend with a lift in his shop, we got the shaft off, put 3 new ujoints in it, a new seal and had to find the pinion nut and washer. Got that all on and 4 wheel drive is working great. Drove it to work for the first time today! Biggest rig in the parking lot! Whoohoo! But man the road noise was unbelievable. It has AT Tires so it wasn't so much the tires, and it is missing the front carpet, i am considering taking out all of the carpet and seats and doing a roll on bedliner in place of a dynomat install before I buy the carpet kit. Has anyone tried this?

As I go along and learn about this k5, I will post what I know and help anyone out anyway I can. Thanks!

it may help alittle but if you really want it quiet, your best bet will be going with the carpet. if you want to do the bedliner Blaze on here sells some sweet kits and at a great price

well i planned...

On putting in the carpet. But wanted to coat the floorpans first instead of doing the dynomat thing. So if it will help a little, that is what I'll plan to do. I'll take pics and report on the progress. Probably be about a week or so before I start. How do i get a hold of blaze.

blaze's stuff is spray on.

Roll on liners, like Herculiner, are basically paint with crap in it. Very little noise dampening because it's too thin. Spray on that actually has some rubber material and thickness does dampen noise.

I did the whole tub and the out side from the door line down on my 77 K 5 and noise and heat are less but not as good as carpet. i would roll some out then lay the carpet down for a rust proof layer.
