I never looked at the roof, but my whole truck flexed, and creaked, and it is very possible it did.
My 76 still did a lot better than my 73 and 74 though

Looking at this picture makes me think having the top on contributes more to the twist of the top than without
My '78 pops with top off, but not when it is on.

The roof oil cans in the same location on the K5 I'm working on. Maybe it is suppose to be like this.
