This auction ended w/o meeting the reserve so i contacted the seller to see if I could take a look and what he would take cash. he emailed me back wanting my phone number. Its supposedly located about 20 min from my house and would love to have it if the price was right. Im just nervous this is some kind of scam. I have no idea what one of these goes for or some of the issues to look at in a first gen. I really dont want to get taken...

Any local K5ers that wants to take a look at it with me?

Looking at the buyer's profile, he has no ZERO feed back. I would stay away. The english is a bit broken ( another sign ). As long as you are close and can see it in person, you really have nothing to lose. If my guess is correct, the buyer will come up with excuses like, he is out of the country and no one is there to show it to you yada yada yada....

To answer your question, it DOES NOT look legit to me. Something fishy there with the mix match pictures, the broken english in his responses, and ZERO feed back.

Ask him for his phone number. Other than that ask him why the first two pics are not of a blazer.

If its close and real go look at it

That's the guy on the north side of I-20 near Edwards that has a crap load of crap and maybe a few rare finds. If you really want to get into a first gen project then that would be it. The first few pics are of a car and the interior floor looks to be a bit butchered behind the pedals.

yeh that was my question on the ad asking about the pics, i knew they were wrong, i thought it may be some old guy listing it or sumthin and i noticed in the pics that there was a bunch of junk around, arent there some kind of boxes or something that keeps the blazer rigid in that gen? rust was the main thing im worried about. i may just go look at it to see if its something i may like to tackle, I have an 85 that im workin on but im looking for something that may be a little more road friendly
