Doesnt look like a dually or a 1 ton to me. He asking $600, i emailed him and he claims its a real 1ton. Just by looking at the spring plates its a 10bolt, right??

Heres the ad and his pictures-

front's not a 60...possible it's an 8 lug D44. sometimes people confuse it for a 1 ton just because it's got the 8 lugs.
as for the rear, it could go either way. it's just a bad angle to tell if it's a 14 bolt for sure.

definitely a d44 up front (no 10b in '70), you can tell by the steering arm. rear is 14b, u can see the diff cover.

no such thing as a 67-72 K30 unless it's an uber rare napco conversion, which that isn't.

just some dumbass who assumes 8 lugs = 1 ton.

it might be a D60 rear, 67-72's had neither D60 fronts nor 14 bolt rears.

I thought the first gens had eatons/ 14 bolts, not 60's? Either way its definetly a 14 bolt, you can see the cover.

'77 was the first year of a dana 60 for General Motors. '72 was the first year for open knuckle dana 44's for GM. '73 was the first year of the 14 bolt.
I have seen Eaton rear ends and Dana 60 rear ends in '67-'72 trucks.

Mike

Edit: That isn't an Eaton rear end.

If the guy is wrong about the front axle (obviously) what makes anyone think he is right about the year?

I agree, except '70 was the first year of open knuckles, and '71 the first year of front discs.

I saw a 1970 3/4 chevy on craigslist the other day. Looked just like my '78 Stepside. People are idiots sometimes, don't listen to what he says. Just go by what you see.

Are you sure of that?

Mike

I've heard of some '69s having open knuckle axles, and I could believe it. Everything in this time frame seems to be +/- a year when it comes to options, etc.

But yes, I am sure that most '70s got open knuckle drum brakes, and '71 and '72s got open knuckle disc D44s.
