Does this make sense. RPM Drop..........*UPDATE pg 3..

Just to give a little more info, shifting into 4th gear (OD) and the converter locking up do not occur at the exact same time. The trans will shift into OD and if it's at a steady state will then lock the converter. On all of my trucks the converter locking was a very slight, but noticable, change similiar to a very slight additional gear shift.

If you are running in D and waiting until you are at a steady cruising speed before shifting into OD the 4th gear and converter locking will happen very quickly. If you are still accelerating slightly when shifting into OD there would likely be more of a delay between these two.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the truck has been working the same always but you just never noticed it before.

***UPDATE***

It seems you guys are probably right. lol.

I didnt change the starter, I had a shop do it. I went by today and talked to them about the RPM thingy. They agree it sounded like Torque Convertor, not a bad thing, but just the fact. THe dude said he moved some wires that had melted themselves to the header. Im guessing these wires effect the TC somehow. I plan to get under there and poke around and see whats up. But it appears that my truck never did lock up. Cuz this is the first time its ever ran that low an RPM @ 65mph.

SO, there we go. Some one thing did lead to another. Changing the starter effect the Torque COnverter, lol.
