doing rear disc on a 60\'s chevelle rear end.

did you guys use a full kit or piece a homebrew together?

Re: doing rear disc on a 60\'s chevelle rear end.

home brew would be easy, take caliper brackets from something like a dana 44 front axle 10 series and use caddy rear, or s-10 or dana 44 calipers and do what you gotta to get them positioned right and attached and then run hoses and lines after drilling required holes in flange of axle tubes and such, use rotors for a slip on over hub style rotor application

can be and is done by ppl, more than possible to do, can do this to most any RWD rear axle

good luck

When i tubbed out my 64 lemans with a 12 bolt, I found out that 79-81 firebird/trans am's with disc brakes BOLT ON my 12 bolt axel housing. The only mod i had to do was open the center of the rotor for my strange axels and redrill the stud holes for the 1/2" studs in my axels. I also used the front splindles from the same donor T/A. Which lowered my front down 1 1/2" and gave me 4 wheel disc brakes. I used a master cyl from a 86 vette. small aluminum made by rebco.
