I have been trying out diffetent levers to put on the gearshift and haven't come up with anything I like.
Today I was lookin at the 350 in this 78 van that I am pulling out to put in the K5.
I was checking on what all had to be done and seen that it has a high idle solinoid for the A/C.
For whatever reason, as soon as I looked at that I saw the light.
I checked out Hursts site and for $29 I got a T handle shift knob with a push button switch on the side.
That will look much nicer than a brake lever and will go together alot easier.
With another switch on the dash that will be handy for running the compressor and winch as well.
Kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Model # hur1530003, that one is for a 3/8" mounting hole.

Instead of a hand throttle, he's going to use a fast idle solenoid and a button on the shifter to turn it on and off.

All of this because we drive rigs with three pedals but we only have two feet. Who ever came up with that crap anyway? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I learned to use 1 foot for the brake and clutch at the same time. Having EEE size feet helps /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

put enough gear in it and it doesn't matter. If you can dump the clutch when it's iddling and not stall it's got enough gear. Thats about 130:1 where that get's possible with a little bit of a high idle /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Even at 60:1 I never stalled the 6.2 once in Moab...and I also never did the three foot boogie. I kept my foot off the clutch, and through the obstacles I'd leave my foot off the gas pedal too. I'd just let it idle it's way over and through most everything.

More than half the problems that cause the three foot boogie have more to do with flooding out carbs than anything else.
