Dominated Leaf spring bushings

Truck used to make this nasty cracking popping noise when i turned and i noticed that the axle would sometimes be out to one side more, then sometimes it would be to the other side. I started peaking around and looked at my rear leaf spring bushings and WOW!!! they were all the way gone! I had checked the front ones, and they were a little bad but i didnt think they were that much of an issue so for some reason never looked at the rear ones.

So i wanted to change out my front leaf spring bushings since mine were shot. and i do mean shot. Headed out to pick and pull and found a blazer with poly ones! score! so i pulled em out.

From front. Notice the inner sleave is somhow totally dominated.

It didnt take too long to get them all changed out. I went crazy with the Marine grease. Put it everywere and very liberally. Here is the finished result.

I cant belive how bad they were and that i was driving on it!

Turns 300 times better.... doesnt sway all over the road like it used to and want to follow bumps. And no more noise while turning!

haha i know! i see pics of other peoples that just have a little crack and they are calling them toast... if they only knew

if you ever have squeaks start, Energy Suspension sells a silicone grease specifically for poly bushings.

Greasable bolts help as well. I upgraded to ORD bolts and bushings after realizing how horrendously worn my front leaf bushings were. It's easy to shoot them full after every few runs.

glad to see im not the only one. I changed my pass side front, It was almost gone.
