I made it back. Met with Don about an hour ago, and gave Niels recovery gear back. He made it out allright. Had a great time with everyone today! We've got to get together and do it again some time! maybe Evans creek, or head back to where we were. Lots of possibilities! Great meeting ya Jon! Very jealouse of that running gear you've got!
Where did all these damned dirty apes come from!?!
I had a blast. Until the axel exploded on me. That sucked. Neal had fun too. How he needs to do the 44 swap. I need to get my D60 with my tax return then I will have a Bullit Proof Running gear. Have to test it when I get it put in. It shouln't be too long.

I dunno dude...almost every 4-wheelin story you have includes some kinda front-end breakage....we know the D60 is bullet proof...but are you suuuuure its dominator-proof? =p
maybe you should look into some 2.5 ton rockwells....

BTW, if I can't find one elsewhere, how much did your source for D60s want again? Open / 4.56 would be nice...

He said that they are 1100 with open 456 gears. The are military axels with less than 40,000 mile on them. Caliper to Caliper. Rotors look good. It only needs the locking hub dial/cap. For some reason, the military keeps those before selling the axels.

ouch. I'll definitely keep it in mind. All depends on whether I get some $$$ back from a friend that i loaned it to..and how much I can get from my 10-bolts. I need to find a guy who wants to install a Warn ff kit in his rear 10-bolt...that kit alone is $800 + installtion...I could save such a guy a lot of trouble.
