Typical relay setup can be trigged two ways.

Ground on - This way you would typically wire the hot side(+) from the battery to common and then jumper over to one side of the coil. The other side of the coil goes to a switch that then goes to ground. So the switch controls the grounding of the coil.

Hot on- This is typically how you would want to wire it up. Most lighted switches require 12V to turn the light on so you already will have 12V there. So it is pretty easy to run the power for the coil off of that switch. The relay would then be grounded on the other side of the coil, etc.

What are the wattage on each light? Where do you plan on mounting the relays? How many do you want to use?
