dont buy gas today

Yeah that'll bring the big oil companies to their knees......

If'n ya don't buy any today, you'll just need to buy that much more tomorrow. :( Americans are not going to stop driving. We've built entire cities with suburbs far away from work, shopping, entertainment, etc. just so we could drive our cool cars and trucks. :wink1:

I have really started planning my trips to town though! I don't make 3 short trips when 1 slightly longer one will get me to all 3 places in a single trip.

Consider yourself lucky to be able to make the choice to protest... there's not much gas here along the coast to buy at any price right now.

they say the same thing EVERY TIME the gas price goes up a little.

Noone sticks to it, and those that do have little effect. I filled up Monday...It'll be next Friday possibly before I need gas again.

its part of a national protest against high gas prices.

Yea, that'll teach 'em. This is as bad as those chian letter emails you get that say "Don't buy gas on Oct. 14th in protest, because we'll make a difference".... ( :haha: :haha: :haha: ) Sure we will.

Death, taxes, and higher fuel prices. It's life. Make your own decisions.

Places around here are all out of the cheap gas, cheap being 2.75 on base and 3.30 in town. So next choice is the mid grade 2.89 on base 350ish out in town. Plus the stations are closing today or closed at 2 pm for 3 days...........

i work in the garage at a 76. not buying for 1 day wont make a different. dont buy for a year and that will do some damage...

how about we stop buying gas for a whole year, gas will drop back down eventually :haha:

i understand it wouldnt do much, but we do have to do something, this isnt a little bit, this is $.50-1.00 more than it was a few days ago, they're bending us over and sticking it to us good!

Are you mad that they are overcharging or that you didn't think of it first??? :D

novel idea but people just will not cooperate enough to make it work. if EVERYONE didnt buy gas for a day.. maybe but still doubt it would do anything.

i buy diesel on average once every week and a 1/2 today not one of those days ;)

i havent boght gas in 2 months...

when my diesel burb went on the road as my dd :D

lets all swap to diesel rigs..... then they wont sell any gas ;)

only way it would work is if everyone started singleing out certian gas stations. like if noone bough gas at shell or something.

I know, but like I said, EVERYTIME the price has risen over the last 2 years or so, I have heard this "don't buy gas tomorrow, it's a national protest". It hasn't worked yet. Not Buying for one day is not going to make a differance when you are still driving the same distance everyday....what differance does buying 5 gallons today and 5 gallons tomorrow make over not buying any today and the buying 10 gallons tomorrow ? none... You still are using the same amount of gas. Want to do something? ....stop using so much gas....that's the only thing that will work, but everyone has to do it.

not buying gas will solve nothing. the gas stations arnt the ones ripping our a$$holes open, its the top dogs. you will only hurt the gas stations. if you try to single them out and put them out of business, other stations will lose competition and prices go higher. the only way gas will go down the way it came up is if bush steps in and does something about it, which he most likly wont for awhile.

For every person that actually listens to the BS about not buying gas on a certain day, 10 other people will fill their tank.
A few years ago when gas started to peak at $1.25/gal, I started seeing the emails floating around about not buying gas on whatever day..and did anyone do it? I sure didn't.

WELL,,,, I DIDN'T BUY ANY GAS TODAY,,,,, :D :D

but now i need twice as much tomorrow :doah:

AT A HIGHER COST,,,,I MIGHT ADD!
