So the new truck I just got has all new door hinges and the body lines are pretty good. At the bottom it is not perfect with the rocker panel but I can live with it. The issue I am having is adjusting the door so you dont have to slam it so hard.

Does anyone have some tips? I did notice the plastic strike covers are missing so I am off to go get some of those. Hopefully when I get back there is some good tips and tricks to get these doors closing nicely....

thank in advance

Try opening the window and closing the door. It might close just fine with the window open. I just put the top on my blazer for the first time since restoring it and now the doors close hard. Opened the window and they close just as good as they did when I adjusted them.

I end up changing my door hinge bushings every few years. I might adjust the striker bolt once during the life of a set of bushings, but my driver's side wears out pretty quick because I pull on the door to climb into the truck without thinking about it.

Anyway, you have the bolted hinges, the hinge bushings, and the striker bolt. Those are your only real adjustment places. If your body lines are good, then you're pretty much left with adjusting the striker bolt.
