Door carpet ideas?

I bought new door carpet for my 87 K5 from LMC course it is little bigger but would fit and does not come predrilled for trim or for screws.

So wondering should I just use some double sided tape or some tape folded over and position it and tap with a dead blow soft face hammer to leave indention's from screw holes?

I just used the self tapping screws that came with it and matched the old holes up with the new screws. not sure if that help
