Is it possible to align the door frame on a half top K5? Perhaps the tub is twisted. On the K5 the drivers door has a large gap at the B pillar. On the passenger side the gap is tight at the B pillar and is touching the body. The gap on one side is too tight and too loose on the other side. On the passenger side the door is moved as forward as possible on the hinge.

I have always put a piece of wood in the door and pushed on the door to bend to close that gap. Works great and doesn't take much effort.

You might have to adjust the front fender forward a bit on the passenger side to make the gaps nice.

I haven’t had an issue with them.
Well to be fair I haven't tried them in 30 years. Last time I tried them installed got the door just where it needed to be, as I was doing the finial tightening the big flat washer exploded. If I hadn't been wearing safety glasses I would have lost an eye, as it as I had a nice cut on my forehead. Washer as some kind of powdered metal formed on the striker bolt.
Since then I get at bone yard. Though I haven't needed them much since.

Ok you answered my question in the other thread

That's sketchy. I've bought mine the last ten years and they've worked well.
