So is it worth it to try and replace the spring only on my door hinge? Sounds like some have replaced the spring only with a couple of big pry bars with the hinge still attached to the truck?

my driver door spring self ejected when I was pulling the truck off the trailer at Hells Revenge. Im taking the other side out and going with leather straps.

Yes please would love to see the tool. Is it made for servicing the spring on truck? Or must the hinge be removed?

GM makes a tool to remove and replace ask around someone should have it. Will see if can place hands on mine and take pic. That spring has good amount Pressure on it and can go flying!

I my self have never done one .

but by looking at it pull hinge and pop pin out . put spring in and reassemble .

I could be wrong tho .

and fyi your summit link don't work . :surepal:

No doubt, I have done a ton of the late model pin and bushings. However I'm looking to avoid pulling the hinge to replace the spring. Thoughts?

My pass side is MIA also. Really annoying cuz the door won't hold itself open while loading kids in the back seat. I haven't looked into it but I'm kinda guessing there's not enough room with the door and fender installed. Someday I'll get to it so I'm not much help at this point although I am interested how yours turns out.
