both door jambs switches are loose and wont tighten down, they are both brand new, is there a fix for this?

Could be that your sheet metal is stripped out, but also possible they're the wrong size. IIRC, there's two barrel sizes possible, like 5/16" and 3/8" or something (don't quote me on the specifics) and the catalogs often list the wrong one.

I think on mine after getting the wrong ones repeatedly, I ended up reaching through and putting a nut on the back side. However, my truck was cut for speakers in the kick panel area, and even with that it required three elbows and a pint of blood to reach :(

Post up the make and part # of what you got and we may be able to give you an alternate.

i replaced mine a several months ago. they generally fit okay but are a little shaky and have to be just right then they hold, feels stripped out too.

Well, crap. I can't find any evidence of a different part number, except for later trucks.

I went and looked and I put a nut on the back side of mine, looks like 5/16" coarse thread. As mentioned it's a PITA to get back there, but the world will end before those switches come loose.
