It happened once before.....that "star shaped" catch on the door is just spinning and spinning.

I remember last time it happened I found a lever or some kind of ratcheting mechanism had jumped out of place, and once I moved it back everythind was fine again. The problem was I can't remember HOW I did it???

My first temptation is to pull the door panel and take a look around, but would I be more likely to get to the broken part by just taking off that plate from the door?? :dunno:

It's tough getting old...

I think I remember flipping the lever from were the window exits the door. If you look were your door handle's release lever is(on the inside) and follow it to the edge of the door poke around in there :D

This happened to me too. I took the panel off, picked up the parts from the bottom of the door and re assembled and restruck the shaft that is mushroomed on one end to hold the catch on. I used the pics in a LMC catalog to help with reassembly.

take door panel off. remove lock and handle linkage. remove 3 phillip screws and the latch.
theres a spring that wedges a lock thingy in the roller keeping it from spinning. I'll bet the rivit came loose. I've had to weld it to repair this area before.
