So my door panels need repainting so I think I'd try something different. I repainted them with maroon first, then I thought it would be cool to color the center section with black. Check it out:

What do you think YAY or NAY?

I think you need to repaint that maroon..... :)

The black looks OK. How it looks will depend on what else is in your interior. If you have a black dash/dashpad....continuing that black onto the side panels will probably look good.

Regardless, fresh paint of almost any color will look better than the faded maroon color.

SEM is the brand of paint for doing door panels and other interior plastics (BTW)

:usaflag:

Looks real good - What type of paint are you using? I was also thinking of repainting some interior parts.

What are you using for the paint? Is it that vinyl die?

I'm going from blue to black (sounds like a title to a song :D) and I'm wondering how well it will hold up with people rubbing up against it, etc.

Don't worry, I'm redoing the maroon. The maroon color you see on there now is the Auto Zone interior paint over a saddle colored door panel. The auto zone stuff isn't that great it didn't wow me, it started chipping after 2-3 weeks.

The black I just used is much better quality interior vinyl die, I think its VHT brand. It has much better covereage and is better consistancy. And so far it looks like it'll stay on there for a lot longer. I have 2 cans of the maroon VHT paint and I'll paint them up soon and I'll post pictures.

The interior vinyl die works best on softer stuff like the dash pad than the harder plastic of the door panels.

Hopefully this will last for a long time. :o

So I repainted the maroon and the panel looks pretty sweet. I also did the whole driver side panel too with the two-tone styling. I will have pictures tomorrow when it is light out.

Oh and the Black color I used was Color Bond brand and they're stuff is better than the VHT stuff.
