Door panel questions can newer 77+ be altered to fit older models

I seem to be able to find some good deals on door panels that are newer than 1977 and know that is when they changed. I can’t find any older door panels or when I do they are way too much or worse shape than mine..

Has anyone used the newer panels and made them fit for on an older model?

How new? The doors really didn't change I have put an 84 pw door on my 77 manual window and used my regulator and door panel. So I would expect you should able to use up to 91 sub and 87 truck door panels on yours

Ya made it work and turned out good, not sure what year these were and I did have to trim a bit around door handle where it rubbed on both sides
